I am happy to try to help you find a therapist but want to do so in the most efficient way possible. If you have insurance you will probably wish to find a provider who is in your network. You may also wish to find someone who is conveniently located near your home or work. Please start by going to your insurance website where there should be a choice for "Find a doctor/provider." Usually you can filter the results by giving a radius of how far you are willing to drive, gender if you care, and often by specialty areas. All psychologists will have expertise in treating common problems such as anxiety and depression whether they list this as a specialty or not. For other issues you will want to find someone who lists a competency/specialty in the issue (e.g. eating disorders). Once you have filtered the results if you come up with a list you can send me that list so that I can tell you if I know the provider, or know of the provider.
If you are unable to find the information you want on the insurance company website you may want to call your insurance company and ask for a short list of providers (using geographic criteria, specialty, etc.). Ask them to spell the name of any provider names they give you. You can send me the list and I will see if I know any of the providers.
Please fill out the form below if you need help finding a mental health clinician and are requesting a referral. You may send me a direct e-mail if you prefer, but be sure you include all of the information the form asks for. This request is only for recent ex-clients (i.e. have seen me in the past 6 months - November 1, 2013 or later).
